This newly created role will focus on the delivery of all aspects within this small but high-performing IT team. Managing a large and complex bespoke database within AWS infrastructure is the key function of this team. The security posture is a key focus as they reposition to ISM ready, with a formal review underway. With this in mind, we are looking for a suitably skilled developer comfortable with AWS database management with a broad understanding of the security framework.
In addition to the above BAU tasks, the creative aspects of the work sit in the development and coding of new products and services sitting in the pipeline of work to be completed.
Given the successful applicant will play a key part in the ongoing development & maintenance of an existing web-based application platform and systems along with general day to day technical operations & support, we will be looking for someone with a solid foundation in developing web applications and websites along with the ability to manage associated AWS infrastructure.
The role also requires someone with the ability to switch between backend/frontend development with ease. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, quick learner and have the ability to work independently. Being a hard worker with strong work ethic, you will be willing to work across all areas of development, integration, and system administration.
Core Technical skills required:
• Minimum 2 years practical experience which will need to be demonstrated
• Strong PHP/JavaScript skills
• Object oriented development experience
• .NET
• Excellent SQL skills
• Frontend skills using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, jQuery, etc.
• Some exposure to AWS, Linux and PostgreSQL beneficial
The ideal candidate should enjoy a varied workload and be willing to learn new technologies within the team, with a proactive approach to developing solutions. In addition to this, they will need to have excellent communication skills, be collaborative, easy-going and well organised.
