The Industry Capability Network is a not-for-profit organisation who help project and procurement managers find the best local suppliers. They actively seek opportunities for local SMEs to grow their business. Their primary role is to coordinate and support the national ICN network.

The successful applicant will play a key part in the ongoing development & maintenance of an existing web-based application platform and systems along with general day to day technical operations & support. The role requires someone with a solid foundation in developing web applications and websites along with the ability to manage associated AWS infrastructure.
 
The role also requires someone with the ability to switch between backend/frontend development with ease. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, quick learner and have the ability to work independently. Being a hard worker with strong work ethic, you will be willing to work across all areas of development, integration, and system administration.
 
The day to day activities will include:

  • Application development, including maintenance

  • API development and integration

  • Developing new features for existing systems

  • Maintaining, modifying and improving existing codebases

  • Web Design

  • Ideas generation

  • Technical design and documentation

 
Core Technical skills required:

  • Minimum 2 years practical experience which will need to be demonstrated

  • Strong PHP/JavaScript skills

  • Object oriented development experience

  • .NET

  • Excellent SQL skills

  • Frontend skills using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, jQuery, etc.

  • Some exposure to AWS, Linux and PostgreSQL beneficial

The ideal candidate should enjoy a varied workload and be willing to learn new technologies within the team, with a proactive approach to developing solutions. In addition to this, they will need to have excellent communication skills, be collaborative, easy-going and well organised.

This role will be initially offered as a 12 month contract but is seen as a long-term opportunity.
