Joining a small, niche agency working on delivering their procurement functions you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including audit and risk management, project management, oversight of the grants program and coordinating procurement tasks.

This is a 6-month non-ongoing opportunity, with possible 3-month extension.

About you
As an experienced procurement professional you are knowledgeable about and comfortable navigating the PGPA Act and providing advice and guidance in relation to its provisions to the executive team. Your deep understanding of government procedure and processes is supplemented by your ability to multi-task efficiently and manage shifting priorities.

About the role
You will be an important part of the team, helping to support the executive to deliver on the agency’s programs and initiatives. You will be:
  • Developing and implementing a service delivery model to support employees in undertaking procurement and funding processes, contract management and risk identification and management;
  • Drafting, managing and supporting contracts and funding agreements including state and territory funding agreements and community grants and partnerships in conjunction with business areas;
  • Supporting the CFO to review state and territory progress reports to assess general compliance with funding agreements;
  • Contributing to agency-wide improvements in business processes and planning;
  • Undertaking regular monitoring and develop reports and briefing papers to the senior leadership team and governance committees on internal and external audit, risk management, project management, and procurement and funding related activities as required;
  • Providing timely and accurate procurement reporting, including publishing on AusTender and meeting requirements of the Department of Finance;
  • Using your detailed knowledge to provide guidance and advice in relation to the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and surrounding risk, fraud and compliance frameworks; and
  • Assisting with other ad hoc tasks as necessary.
