We have partnered with the incredible team at ANU Enterprise again - this time to find them an experienced and genuine Business Development Manager - could it be you?
This is an exciting opportunity that will see you working hard to develop long-lasting relationships across three critical ANU Colleges. You will not only seek to further deepen existing relationships, but forge new ones with the aim of maximising value to the ANU for contract research, consulting and executive education opportunities.
This position is only available due to the recent the relocation of a valued team member inter-state. If successful, it will see you continuing to strengthen ties and create opportunities through your genuine nature, your openness to learn and your natural consulting style.
Working within an amazingly supportive team environment, this role will see you taking the lead on the identification of external commercial opportunities and partnerships within your portfolio. Identifying, analysing and securing business deals with external organisations on behalf of your clients. Engaging with Deans, Heads of School and key academic staff to confirm their unique needs and provide advice and solutions.
Make no mistake, this is a rare role that has it all - interesting content, inspirational people and varied work. There are a number of critical skills you have that will make you competitive for this position. They include demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement; contract negotiation & management; tender management; budget management; project management; and the analysis of opportunities gained through genuine business activity - seeing the network within and understanding how best to achieve outcomes for all clients, current and future.
There are some key differences that sets this apart from your standard BDM role though, so listen up. This is not a process-driven position, you need to be able to operate effectively without structure; be a solutions-focused closer who uses their knowledge of the tendering process to get their desired outcomes; and be a gun at proposal development - bringing together a multi-disciplinary team and lead them to a positive outcome. The icing on the cake in your application will be your prior exposure to the unique nature of doing business in the University environment - in particular your understanding of the structures, systems an policies underpinning the development of commercial research and consulting in this unique operating environment.
What do you get in return? A salary of $110,000 plus super is on offer, along with an additional at risk salary component based on performance. Free secure parking is also provided. The best perk of all is this awesome team though - but you be the judge of that by registering your interest via an application with your CV and a cover letter.
