This Federal Government Department is actively seeking a Senior WHS Officer to join them!
A 12 month non-ongoing contract is available for the right candidate to join a small, dynamic team.
Previous experience in an advisory WHS role is essential as you will need to hit the ground running! As the go-to person for WHS advice you will have a strong understanding of the current relevant legislation, rules and guidelines and be confident in providing advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
The workload is fast-paced and you will be relied upon to carry out tasks that support the daily functions of the team including case management, compliance checks, due diligence reporting and maintaining the WHS standards of the Department. You may be called upon to provide short-notice advice, briefs and minutes due to the shifting priorities that sometimes emerge, but your flexible style will ensure that your ability to manage these pivots is seamless.
You will be a clear and confident communicator, and comfortable working within a team environment that includes interacting with colleagues who work remotely. Your experience has imbued you with the knowledge and skills to manage operational responsibilities which support the team's higher level strategic objectives.
