Elliott Gray is looking for an experienced Management Accountant who will report to the Director, Financial Performance and Strategy and work closely with the Financial Reporting Team.

What will you be doing?

The duties of the Management Accountant include:
  • Manage the internal and external budget process and budget allocations
  • Manage the internal and external budget process and budget allocations
  • Liaise with Business Managers regarding budgets and forecasts
  • Analyse and quality check information against the Actual vs budget allocation
  • Prepare month end reports for committees
  • Input of external budget into Central Budget Management System (CBMS)
  • Assist in the preparation of the Portfolio Budget Statements
  • Manage Estimate Memorandum’s and respond appropriately
  • Prepare accurate and timely response to Questions On Notice and Senate Estimates Briefs
  • Prepare and complete end of month financial processes including processing journals, accruals and internal reporting to groups
  • Assist in the management of Financial Operations and Treasury Accounting as needed.
  • Contribute to business improvement strategies and associated changes to financial management policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively and have a strong stakeholder focus whilst providing a high level of customer service and training to the Business Groups.
The Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will have the following:
  • Strong Management Accounting skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to provide accurate and consistent numbers and working papers.
  • Able to interpret legislative frameworks and in accordance with accounting standards and consistent with internal operating policies and procedures under limited direction.
  • Sound awareness of the PGPA Act and its compliance requirements• A strong client focus and a requirement to anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with the ability to perform analysis of data
  • A high level of organisation with ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
  • Hold a current Security Baseline Clearance
