We are excited to be working with the Directorate of Force Structure for Army within the Department of Defence as they continue to act as Army's ‘organisational conscience’ in the delivery of a land force structure capable of meeting Defence’s strategic requirements. With a wide remit, this Directorate is implementing reform initiatives to simplify processes and generate improved force structure planning and adaptive establishment management to better inform future force planning. They are a collaborative multi-disciplinary team who bring a mix of diverse experience across people, commercial, technology, or general business streams; and they need you!

So, what will you be doing?

Primarily your role will be to manage and lead a small team. With a culture of innovation and collaboration your role will be one of coach and mentor to your team, not command and control.

However, to be a true leader we do need some subject matter expertise. This is where your technical knowledge comes in. You will ultimately be responsible for the provision of detailed and technical policy advice relating to complex establishment management. The team will be responsible for ensuring Army's structure remains affordable and achievable, but they need a fearless leader who will help them get there.

Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and a willingness to initiate influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and senior management. 

Some exposure to establishment or workforce management within an APS environment will be beneficial - or another large and complex organisation.

An interest and capacity to understand technical capability and how to utilise systems to achieve outcomes.

Australian Citizens only sorry - this one requires someone to obtain and hold an NV1 if successful.
