Great little opportunity for an experienced HR policy guru with a strong background in providing operational HR advice at the APS 6 level.
Available as a result of internal movements, and offered as a non-ongoing contract or temp-transfer, this role will see an experienced HR officer playing their part in the reform of how HR policy is delivered in this large government department.
So what is it?
Sitting in the People Policy team, the role works to an experienced EL1 who is strong in operational HR policy and advice. The key function will be to provide accurate and solid advice around the application of the Departmental EBA, this will also include SES advice.
Why would you want this contract?
It is a great opportunity for someone passionate about reforming the way this large Department provides operational HR advice and enables the workforce. There will be plenty of opportunity to get involved with reform projects and get into some juicy IR issues alongside the other highly skilled IR EL1.
Possibility of extension is high - maybe even the option to apply permanently in the role in the next 12 months.

This role needs a strong and experienced APS 6 HR policy officer, we would love someone who can step up and provide their advice around how the provision of the various HR services can be improved and fine-tuned.
We want a customer service focused officer who can make an impact and leave their mark - someone ready to learn and make changes as they do. For the right person, this opportunity will be the gateway to a long career with this large Department.
As this role is employed directly with the Department only Australian Citizens may apply. A baseline clearance would be advantageous, but not essential.
